"Dreams fuel that spirit craves. Dream permits each of us to be quietly and safely insane — and it is from such high dreams that great institutions are born."

— Founding Philosophy, Police Modern School

History of Police Modern School

Dreams are the fuel that inspire the human spirit. Every individual carries dreams that shape aspirations and guide the future. With the vision of providing quality education to the children of police personnel, and to some extent civilian children, Ved Prakash Kapoor along with Mrs. Swarn Kapoor laid the foundation of Police Modern School at Gomti Nagar, Lucknow in the academic session 1993–94. The school was inaugurated by the then Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Mulayam Singh Yadav.

In the year 1995–96, under the inspiration and dedicated efforts of Mrs. Shashi Arun, wife of the then Additional Director General, PAC, Sri Ram Arun, the vision of Police Modern School expanded further. Gradually, branches of the school started opening in various PAC battalions and districts across Uttar Pradesh to provide accessible and quality education to police families.

The school is managed by the society known as Uttar Pradesh Police Shiksha Samitee through the educational fund called “Uttar Pradesh Police Shiksha Kosh.” This fund is supported through a voluntary contribution known as “Ansh Daan,” where every police personnel contributes a small monthly amount towards the educational welfare of students.

What began as a humble initiative with only 42 students at the primary level soon transformed into a rapidly growing institution. Police Modern School achieved High School status in 1998–99 and was upgraded to Intermediate level in 2000–01 with Science and Commerce streams. Over the years, the institution has continued to grow with a strong commitment to academic excellence, discipline, moral values, and holistic development.

For the efficient administration and smooth functioning of the schools, a Central Directed Board (CDB) at the central level and Local Management Committees at the local level were established. These governing bodies ensure proper guidance, management, and development of the institution.

The Central Directed Board, also known as Kendriya Nideshak Mandal, consists of the following members:

The meetings of the Central Directed Board are conducted quarterly to review the progress, administration, and future development plans of the institution.

Today, Police Modern School stands as a symbol of dedication, discipline, and educational excellence, nurturing generations of students with knowledge, confidence, and values for a brighter future.
